A life-saving phone call

Testimony from the CBN Prayer Hotline

At the beginning of the year, Johanna Baumann-Brunner called our prayer hotline and spoke to Andrea S., a volunteer. Johanna was in poor health at the time. She had undergone open-heart surgery a few months earlier and did not seem to have recovered well.

Andrea prayed with her and encouraged her to see a doctor. Johanna was very afraid to do so because she had not had good experiences with doctors at the hospital.

But, after the prayer, she was so encouraged and strengthened inwardly that she went to the doctor—and this visit was a last-minute rescue for her! The doctor discovered that her surgical suture had opened, and her heart was bleeding internally. She was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit at the hospital for a week. Johanna would not have survived that day without medical help!

Full of gratitude, she called the prayer hotline two weeks later to share her testimony. She was greatly strengthened in her faith and in the certainty that God sees her and cares for her. With new strength, she wanted to take control of and change some things in her life after this experience. She then spent some time in a monastery, got a new apartment, and is currently “happier than ever.” She also hopes to visit our team in Hamburg soon.

Our prayer team was also greatly encouraged and affirmed by this testimony. We are delighted to experience time and again how God answers prayers, how He works and responds to prayers—and how He even saves lives in some cases!
