She lives in the Nairobi area of Kenya. She has been looking after her children alone for six years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pamela had to rely on odd jobs. <em>\u201cLife was really hard,\u201d<\/em> she says, <em>\u201dI had to get up early to sit somewhere and wait with other women for a job. If I was lucky, I could do the laundry for someone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But Pamela often returned home empty-handed after a whole day of job hunting. <em>\u201cI could no longer pay for school. And sometimes my children and I went to bed hungry.\u201d<\/em> She had to leave two children in the care of her sister. The torn family of four lived in a makeshift tent camp that flooded when it rained. It was cold and uncomfortable. She often prayed to God and hoped for a better future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18063 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cbndeutschland.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/humanitaer_hh_imzelt-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Family in a tent\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cbndeutschland.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/humanitaer_hh_imzelt-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/cbndeutschland.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/humanitaer_hh_imzelt-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cbndeutschland.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/humanitaer_hh_imzelt-scaled-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pamela&#8217;s eldest daughter plays soccer and told her coach about the situation. He knew Operation Blessing and got in touch. The CBN aid organization then provided Pamela with a food truck with sausages and eggs for frying. This enabled her to set up a small business. She finally had a stable source of income and was able to provide for her family.<\/p>\n<p>She soon expanded her range and started selling filled dumplings. <em>\u201cNow I can earn money and even save a little.
